On Rajinikanth's 74th birthday, fans unveiled a new statue of him at the Arulmigu Sri Rajini Temple in Thirumangalam, Madurai. The statue depicts Rajinikanth's iconic character from the film Mappillai. A fan was seen pouring milk over the statue and worshipping it.
